  • Moisturises: Castor oil is a humectant, meaning that it sucks water out of the air and draws it to the hair follicle, retaining moisture where needed, and moisturising dry hair and scalp.

  • Promotes hair growth: By using castor oil just once a month, hair can grow up to five times faster as blood flow to the scalp is increased.

    •  

  • Prevents hair loss: Being rich in ricinoleic acid and Omega-9, castor oil helps to prevent hair loss.

    •  

  • Cares for dry hair: Castor oil’s fatty acids allow it to seal in moisture and keep hair softer and healthier, preventing breakage and split ends.

    How to Use Castor Oil in Hair

    Now, of course, you wouldn’t just dump castor oil straight onto your hair (desperate times aren’t here just yet!), so how should we use castor oil in hair?

    First off, you can create a hair mask by combining castor oil and aloe vera to revitalise the scalp and regulate healthy sebum (an oily fluid that prevents hair from drying up and falling out.)
